Neuromuscular release therapy (NRT)

NRT™ is comprehensive soft tissue manipulation techniques that are designed to balance and stabilize the body’s relationship between its central nervous system and its musculoskeletal system. Once balance and stability are achieved the body can become the self sufficient, healing machine that it is designed to be, thus, eliminating painful re-occurring conditions forever.

NRT™ is based on the physiologically fundamental causes of pain. These causes are based on neurological laws that have been proven for decades. There is literally a reason for everything that exists within our bodies. When it comes to pain within our body there is always going to be a reason why its there.

muxing therapy (bamboo fusion)

Muxing Therapy is a treatment using warm bamboo and rosewood tools to perform deep tissue massage. The therapist uses Muxing instruments of different shapes and sizes to apply a variety of massage strokes which address ischemic tissue and promote a deep sense of overall well being and relaxation. Bamboo has been used around the world to promote health and well being. In China bamboo is seen as a symbol of prosperity, youth and peace. In Japan Bamboo is believed to protect from evil and many Buddhist temples are surrounded by Bamboo forests. In India Bamboo is used in Ayervedic medicine to promote healing.

active isolated stretching (AIS)

The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of Athletic Stretching Technique that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups, but more importantly, AIS provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes.

Over the past few decades many experts have advocated that stretching should last up to 60 seconds. For years, this prolonged static stretching technique was the gold standard. However, prolonged static stretching actually decreases the blood flow within the tissue creating localized ischemia and lactic acid buildup. This can potentially cause irritation or injury of local muscular, tendinous, lymphatic, as well as neural tissues, similar to the effects and consequences of trauma and overuse syndromes.

Kinesio taping

Kinesio Taping is a technique based on the body's own natural healing process. This Kinesio Taping exhibits its efficacy through the activation of neurological and circulatory systems. This method basically stems from the science of Kinesiology, hence the name "Kinesio". Muscles are not only attributed to the movements of the body but also control the circulation of venous and lymph flows, body temperature, etc. Therefore, the failure of the muscles to function properly induces various kinds of symptoms. Kinesio Taping gives support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It is also used for Preventive Maintenance, Edema, and to treat pain.

DEEP Bodywork

Created by Perry Holloman over the last 25 years at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California. This method combines the integrating qualities of a flowing Esalen Massage with the therapeutic effectiveness of Deep Tissue work. Using these healing modalities in combination opens realms of possibility to the bodywork practitioner unavailable through the application of one or the other alone.

esalen

Famously known from Esalen Institute located in Big Sur, CA is Swedish massage combined with influence of early Esalen leaders, Charlotte Selver and Bernie Gunther who taught sensory reawakening.  What sets Esalen Massage apart from other types of massage is the philosophical approach of long and fluidal strokes.

Lomi LOMi

Experience this paradise massage of Lomi Lomi without traveling to the islands.  Hawaiian Bodywork is an ancient transformational bodywork that was originally performed by the Kahunas ("keepers of the secret").  Only very recently has this sacred knowledge been allowed to be shared with the general public.  This particular style is often referred to as "Ancient Hawaiian Temple Bodywork".  Lomi can be a transformative experience as the practitioner utilizes dynamic movement, rhythm, speed and depth to "navigate" over the recipient's body, releasing old patterns.  Lomi is more than just another massage technique - it is a way of life.  Closed your eyes and ready to immerse in bliss with this loving sacred dance.  This form of bodywork is very nurturing and is delivered with your entire self.

Watsu® (Aquatic bodywork)

Watsu is a gentle form of body therapy performed in warm water, (around 94-97°F.) It combines elements of massage, joint mobilisation, shiatsu, muscle stretching and dance. The receiver is continuously supported while being floated, cradled, rocked and stretched. The deeply relaxing effects of warm water and nurturing support, combine with Watsu's movements, stretches, massage and point work, to create a bodywork with a range of therapeutic benefits and potential healing on many levels.

Moments of stillness alternate with rhythmical flowing movements, which free the body in ways impossible on land. The warm water relaxes the muscles and supports the spine. With this support and without the weight of the body, the spine, joints and muscles can be manipulated and freed in a way unique to water work. The effects include a very gentle, yet deep stretching and a release of muscular and joint restrictions, along with a state of deep relaxation, which encourages the release of stress and tensions.*

Thai massage

A traditional Thai Yoga Massage has been taught and practiced in Thailand for approximately 2,500 years and is based on the theory that the body is made up of 72,000 sen, or energy lines, of which 10 hold top priority.  Thai Massage is practiced on a firm mat on the floor instead of on a table, instrumental in the effective use of the practitioner's body weight.
